Safety Features

The new Odyssey is loaded with safety features. Its sophisticated technology helps keep passengers protected, but also helps drivers avoid accidents as well. Anti-lock brakes are equipped with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) which helps the driver keep control over steering even when needing to brake hard. The Odyssey also has Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) which helps keep the vehicle under control when the driver over or understeers (though this is not a substitute for safe driving).

In the event of an accident, the Odyssey is ready to protect you and your passengers. Its body structure has Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) which helps absorb the impact of all kinds of different-sized vehicles in the event of a front-end collision. The seat belts in the Odyssey have an automatic tensioning system, keeping passengers in their seats during an impact. There are also airbags not only in the front, but also side curtain airbags to protect rear passengers during an accident or rollover. The front passenger seat's airbags are governed by the Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) which can sense the size and height of the front passenger. This will deactivate airbag deployment when the front passenger is a smaller person to whom airbags can be dangerous.

Interior Features

On the inside, Odyssey is full of great features allowing you to customize your ride. There are numerous different seating configurations, allowing you to carry just as many passengers and just as much cargo as you need. Seats are removable to allow for more cargo space, and if you remove all the rear passenger seats, Odyssey has the space to hold even 4' by 8' sheets of plywood. The center seat in the second row can now fit a car seat and can even move forward to allow front passengers easy access to their child (EX and above).

Standard on the Touring Elite model is Honda's Ultrawide DVD Rear Entertainment System. This screen is 16.2" wide, allowing for split-screen viewing for rear passengers on one screen, which means everyone can watch what they want. Any model with a rear entertainment system comes with wireless headphones for quiet use, too.

The center console's navigation display (available on EX-L models and standard on Touring models) has a variety of different functions. It can display audio system information and has Song By Voice, which lets you pick your soundtrack without hitting a button. You can also upload photos and have them displayed as a background wallpaper. On models with a navigation package, Odyssey also comes equipped with a multi-view rear camera that displays guidelines to make backing up even more precise. The Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System not only provides drivers with accurate directions, but also receives constant updates on traffic conditions ahead on your route, keeping you one step ahead.
